Britney Not Performing at the VMA's This Year

Britney Spears' manager announced that the pop singer will not perform this year at MTV Video Music Awards, although she appeared in VMA promos together with British comedian Russell Brand, who will be hosting the event on September 7 in Los Angeles.

"Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year's VMAs," said Larry Rudolph (Jive Records) in a statement.

"She's in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio", In addition, Van Toffler, the MTV Networks Music Group President, said he would think about giving the singer another turn at the show.
