SAN ANTONIO - Medical technology company Kinetic Concepts Inc. said Wednesday that it has appointed a new president of its LifeCell business.

Lisa Colleran will serve as president of the unit and serve as a member of KCI's executive committee. Colleran previously served as senior vice president of commercial operations for LifeCell.
The LifeCell unit makes tissue-based products used in surgery to repair soft-tissue defects.
Colleran replaces Paul Thomas, who resigned from the medical technology company.
