NEW YORK - Actress Nicollette Sheridan and her boyfriend singer Michael Bolton said through their publicists yesterday their engagement was over but clarified it was in an "amicably" way.
"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," said Nicole Perna. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter," said Sheridan's publicist in a statement according to reports.
The couple started dating in 1992 during five years and later re-untied in 2005. A year later, they announced an engagement.
Sheridan is now joining the cast of ABC's "Desperate Housewives" show portraying Edie Britt. Bolton has sold over 50 million records and one of his hits "When a man loves a woman" is famous worldwide. He also won Grammy Awards in 1989 and 1991 for male pop vocal performance.
Both partners were previously married. Sheridan married to actor Harry Hamlin in 1991 and Bolton to Maureen McGuire between 1975 and 1990.
