NEW YORK - Kevin Cogill, the blogger from California who leaked nine unreleased songs of the band Guns N' Roses on a website was released under a $10,000 bail, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The case's investigation continues as the authorities research on the source where the songs came from. Cogill is expected to return to court on September 17, CNS reports. He is been now charged on felony and faces up to three years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

"Presently, though we don't support this guy's actions at that level, our interest is in the original source. We can't comment publicly at this time as the investigation is ongoing," said Guns N' Roses in a statement according to LA Times.

The anti piracy law that punishes the distribution of copyrighted material on computer networks before the materials are released, started to run in California 3 years ago, and Cogill is charged under this law which now is a felony

Cogill, 27 was arrested at his home on Wednesday by the FBI for been suspicious of violating federal copyright laws. Cogill admitted he posted the songs. On Wednesday he appeared in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles where he posted his bail after his court hearing, CNS reported.

Federal authorities said the songs were posted on the website "Antiquiet.com" in June which he made available for streaming and not for download. He later pulled down the songs that belong to Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" which may be launched this fall and has been recording for over ten years.
