Textron Marine, Bell Helicopter get Army contracts

NEW YORK - Textron Marine & Land System has received a $6.6 million contract for 10 armored security vehicles from the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command.

Work will be performed in New Orleans, with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2009.

Separately, the Army said late Thursday it awarded a $6.2 million contract to Bell Helicopter to add three items to its long-term contract, including 30 cowl assemblies for the OH-58D Kiowa helicopter program. A cowl surrounds an engine and is involved with air intake.

Work will be performed in Hurst, Texas, with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2011.

Both Textron Marine and Bell Helicopter are units of Providence, R.I.-based industrial conglomerate Textron Inc.
