NEW YORK - Shares of some top investment banks companies were down at the close of trading:

MS	14.71	-0.23
GS	67.31	-0.22
LEH	0.13	-0.17
MER	11.65	-0.26

Goldman Sachs fell $6.71 or 4.0 percent, to $160.90.

Lehman Brothers fell $1.77 or 10.4 percent, to $15.17.

Merrill Lynch fell $2.12 or 7.5 percent, to $26.21.

Morgan Stanley fell $1.83 or 4.3 percent, to $40.34.
