The book aims to explore themes from Palin's career in politics, such as her life as a "hockey mom" and her strong Christian faith. It is scheduled for release on October 10, Zondervan announced on its website. Hilley, the author, observes Palin is a woman who models a fresh paradigm of leadership.

"We live in an age that values relationship over authority and instant information over accuracy, so breadth of knowledge and depth of conviction are the most prized commodities for our leaders," said Hilley in the statement.

"Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin brings both of these qualities and more to her new role as John McCain's running mate and I'm eager for readers to have the opportunity to know her and her brand of leadership more thoroughly."

Sarah Palin is the first woman vice presidential candidate for the Republican party. Her nomination acceptance speech attracted over 40 million viewers last week. She also generated the largest number of web searches for political figures in three years, (surpassing those for Barack Obama, John McCain and Joe Biden her counterpart), according to Bill Tancer, the general manager of research at Hitwise.

The Alaskan governor was nominated by presidential candidate John McCain on August 29. She is married to her high school boyfriend and has 5 children including a teenager daughter named Bristol whose pregnancy at age 17 caused controversy last week.

Palin, 44, also has a baby boy with Down Syndrome whose name is Trig. Both appeared on a cover of People Magazine in September. The vice presidential candidate participated in a beauty contests in 1984, where she was crowned Miss Wasilla.
