VIENNA, Austria - Europe's largest security organization says talks on sending more monitors to Georgia have been "put on hold."
The Vienna-based Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe says negotiations with Russia on sending up to 80 additional unarmed military observers to the former Soviet republic have been suspended.
Russia's ambassador to the 56-nation OSCE confirms the suspension of the talks, but says Moscow is ready to resume talking. He says the main "deadlock" is defining where the monitors would be allowed to roam.
Officials said the talks hit a snag on Thursday.
