The divorce settlement between Alex Rodriguez, the highest paid baseball player ever and Cynthia Rodriguez, ended "amicably" and in a private negotiation between the ex-couple, the New York Daily News reported.

"Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings," said Alan Kluger, A-Rod's attorney. "This was and remains a personal family matter for both of them," the lawyer added in a statement sent to the source.

The financial terms of the multimillion settlement were not disclosed.

"All their decisions were based upon and guided by the best interests of their daughters, (Natasha, 3, and Ella, 5 months old)," Cynthia's attorney Maurice Kutner said, according to the Associated Press.

The couple were married for five years and had a premarital agreement signed in 2002. On July 14 this year, Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce after alleging that extramarital affairs of the player damaged the relationship.

Rodriguez asked for a $12 million waterfront home the couple owned in Coral Gables, Fla., an equitable distribution of all their assets and the child support from A-Rod.

Rumors spread that the Yankee's player made late night visits to Madonna and that the pop singer was guiding Rodriguez in the teaching of Kabalah. However nor the pop singer nor A-Rod admitted an affair.
