He was speaking inside an arena at the university in Coral Gables, Florida when about a dozen people began to wave homemade signs.

Among the signs were handwritten messages which stated "Blacks against Obama," "Obama for Gay Marriage." Obama has come out in support of civil unions but not gay marriage.

Another one read "endorsed by the KKK." One stated, "Jesse Jackson hates Obama." The signs all had the words Michael Warns written at the bottom.

Obama, who was speaking on economic issues, stopped to address the protesters.

"Young people out there, it's no problem for you to put your signs up but ... Let me finish what I had to say. Alright?"

He attempted to continue with the speech but the protesters continued to hold up their signs. Eventually the majority of the crowd assembled began booing them.

After less than a minute, they were escorted out as people began cheering.

"Alright, let's get back to work," Obama said. "Settle down everybody, let's get down to work."
