Hoku Materials Ltd., plans to manufacture 4,000 metric tons of polysilicon per year at the plant, which is under construction in Pocatello, Idaho.
Hoku said it negotiated blended fixed and industrial tariff rates for guaranteed amounts of power over a four-year period that will begin in June. When that time frame concludes, the price will become the utility's standard tariff rate in effect for large industrial power purchasers. Specific prices were not disclosed.
Hoku also reached an agreement to increase the capacity of a substation being built to deliver electricity to the plant.
Shares of Hoku rose 24 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $6.47 in Monday afternoon trading.
