WASHINGTON - The Department of Defense said Monday that it has added $58 million to a contract with L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. for work on airplanes.

The modification exercises an option to perform aircraft maintenance and logistics on 55 Navy and 11 Marine Corps C-12 planes. Work is expected to be completed by September 2009.
