In her Huffington Post blog entry Monday, Wolf writes that vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin represents a "weak figurehead" through which a small group of conservatives will continue to remain in power.
"I realized early on with horror what I was seeing in Governor Palin: the continuation of the Rove-Cheney cabal, but this time without restraints," writes Wolf.
Limbaugh shot back in a post on his website on Tuesday, stating that Palin has "driven these people whacky" since people in the media and the "liberal elite" don't know people like Palin or share her values. He notes that Palin has five children, hunts and worships God.
"They think that people like her are so far way beneath them and that there are so few people like Sarah Palin, they are totally, totally blown off their equilibrium here," he says.
Wolf asserts that Palin, is reflecting the policies of President Bush and his former top political adviser Karl Rove, not those of her running mate John McCain.
"Reports confirmed my suspicions: Palin, not McCain, is the FrankenBarbie of the Rove-Cheney cabal," she writes. She goes on to state that there will be reduced freedom for people on the internet and that protesters will be stifled.
"This is Naomi Wolf literally rendered insane and ready for the man in the little white coat to come drag her away in the little yellow bus to the Menninger Clinic."
