W&T Offshore names Vazquez as president

HOUSTON - Oil and gas producer W&T Offshore Inc. announced Thursday that Jamie L. Vazquez has been appointed president.

Tracy W. Krohn, who had held the position, remains chairman and chief executive.

Vazquez had been vice president for land since 2003. She joined the company in 1998 and holding management jobs at CNG Producing Co.

Krohn said he recommended the changes to the company board.

The Houston-based company operates primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.

Shares of W&T rose $1.13, or 3.7 percent, to close at $31.44.
