NEW YORK - Shares of some top broadline retail companies were up at the close of trading:

Quotes

BJ	32.71	0.44
COST	46.71	1.72
TGT	28.08	0.08
WMT	52.92	2.26

BJ's Wholesale rose $.57 or 1.5 percent, to $39.77.

Costco rose $.31 or .5 percent, to $66.29.

Target rose $1.25 or 2.5 percent, to $51.47.

WalMart rose $.59 or 1.0 percent, to $60.71.
