HOUSTON - Clothing and accessories retailer Stage Stores Inc. on Friday said Chairman and Chief Executive Jim Scarborough will retire, effective Nov. 3.

Scarborough, 58, has worked more than eight years with the company and will continue to serve as board chairman.
Scarborough will be replaced by Andrew Hall, who currently serves as president and chief operating officer.
Hall, 47, joined the company in 2006 and will continue to serve on the board of directors. He will be responsible for development and execution of the company's long-term growth plans and oversee daily operational aspects of the business.
Shares of the company slipped 13 cents to $14.40 in morning trading.
