Chemical company shares fall on House vote

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Chemical companies' stocks traded lower Monday afternoon as the stock market tumbled on news that the U.S. House failed to pass a $700 billion financial bailout package.

Shares of Dow Chemical fell $2.19, or 6.5 percent, to $31.78, as DuPont Co. shares fell $1.69, or 4 percent, to $40.30.

Ashland Inc. shares fell $2.21, or 7.4 percent, to $27.85. Huntsman Corp. shares fell $1.09, or 12.7 percent, to $7.52.
