NEW YORK - Shares of some top electrical companies were down at the close of trading:

APH	19.74	0.74
AVT	12.8	0.7
EMR	32.18	2.2
TNB	17.39	1.03

Amphenol fell $2.45 or 5.7 percent, to $40.27.

Avnet fell $.99 or 4.0 percent, to $23.90.

Emerson Electric fell $2.86 or 6.9 percent, to $38.46.

Thomas & Betts fell $4.07 or 9.9 percent, to $36.94.
