NEW YORK - Shares of some top coal companies are down at noon:

ACI	12.3	1.84
CNX	20.8	1.97
MEE	12.18	2.08
BTU	18.75	2.5

Arch Coal fell $4.53 or 12.7 percent, to $31.04.

Consol Energy fell $8.52 or 17.3 percent, to $40.72.

Massey Energy fell $5.34 or 13.4 percent, to $34.43.

Peabody Energy fell $6.25 or 12.9 percent, to $42.38.
