NEW YORK - Shares of some top durable goods companies are down at noon:

Quotes

SWK	26.24	0.86
BDK	35.54	2.37
SNA	30.37	1.75
WHR	31.97	1.05

Black & Decker fell $1.96 or 3.1 percent, to $60.93.

Snap-On fell $.68 or 1.2 percent, to $54.31.

Stanley Works fell $1.90 or 4.3 percent, to $42.80.

Whirlpool fell $3.22 or 3.8 percent, to $81.14.
