NEW YORK - Shares of some top machinery companies are down at noon:

CAT	34.67	1.83
DE	30.97	2.2
MTW	4.84	0.23
TEX	10.06	0.73

Caterpillar fell $2.73 or 4.3 percent, to $61.40.

Deere s fell $5.16 or 9.3 percent, to $50.17.

Manitowoc fell $1.55 or 8.7 percent, to $16.19.

Terex fell $2.92 or 8.5 percent, to $31.26.
