Amphenol fell $.31 or .8 percent, to $39.96.

Avnet rose $.07 or .3 percent, to $23.97.

Emerson Electric rose $.65 or 1.7 percent, to $39.11.

Thomas & Betts rose $.22 or .6 percent, to $37.16.
