NEW YORK - Shares of some top utilities companies are mixed at 10 a.m.:

SO	35.59	1.77
AEP	29.01	1.16
ED	40	2.47
DUK	15.04	0.41
POM	16.85	1.08

AEP rose $.38 or 1.0 percent, to $37.06.

ConEd rose $.12 or .3 percent, to $42.92.

Duke Energy rose $.14 or .8 percent, to $17.75.

Pepco Holdings fell $.03 or .1 percent, to $22.63.

Southern Co rose $.78 or 2.1 percent, to $38.03.
