NEW YORK - Shares of some top electrical companies were mixed at the close of trading:

Quotes

APH	19.74	0.74
AVT	12.8	0.7
EMR	32.18	2.2
TNB	17.39	1.03

Amphenol fell $.13 or .3 percent, to $40.14.

Avnet rose $.73 or 3.1 percent, to $24.63.

Emerson Electric rose $2.33 or 6.1 percent, to $40.79.

Thomas & Betts rose $2.13 or 5.8 percent, to $39.07.
