NEW YORK - Shares of some top construction companies were down at the close of trading:

Quotes

FLR	31.9	2.34
FWLT	16.24	2.21
PWR	11.67	0.95
SGR	13.88	1.82

Fluor s fell $3.48 or 6.2 percent, to $52.22.

Foster Wheeler fell $2.53 or 7.0 percent, to $33.58.

Quanta Services fell $2.19 or 8.1 percent, to $24.82.

Shaw Group fell $1.32 or 4.3 percent, to $29.41.
