WASHINGTON - The Air Force said Wednesday that it awarded a $38.3 million contract to Northrop Grumman Corp. for work on space equipment.

The contract will support a spacecraft made by the company's space division.

Shares of Los Angeles-based Northrop fell $3.68 to $56.86.
