TULSA, Okla. - Car rental company Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. said late Monday it named Scott L. Thompson president and chief executive, succeeding Gary L. Paxton.
Thompson joined Dollar Thrifty in May as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, and helped found auto retailer Group 1 Automotive Inc., Dollar Thrifty said.
Paxton will remain a director at Dollar Thrifty and will provide transition support through the end of the year, when he will retire and provide consulting services to the company, Dollar Thrifty said.
The company said H. Clifford Buster III, who worked at oil services company Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc., will succeed Thompson as CFO and executive vice president.
Dollar Thrifty also said senior executive vice president R. Scott Anderson will now be responsible for corporate store operations, global sales, marketing and franchise operations.
