NEW YORK - Live Nation Inc. said Tuesday it has secured a five-year deal to handle ticketing for New York City's Roseland Ballroom, beginning in 2009.

In January 2009, Live Nation will launch Live Nation Ticketing, a full service, in-house ticketing company. Live Nation said its new ticketing platform will allow the company to control customer data, create ticket-based concert products and capitalize on expanded distribution channels and sponsorship opportunities.
Roseland Ballroom hosts more than 100 shows annually, drawing more than 100,000 attendees.
Live Nation shares jumped 24 cents to $13.40 in morning trading.
