Matt Stairs hit the game-winning home run for the Philadelphia Phillies Monday night giving them a 7-5 win versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Phillies, playing at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, scored four runs in the eigth inning.

Share Victorino hit a two-run home run that tied the game 5-5. Then Stairs came to the plate after and hit another two-run homer that led the Phillies to victory and a 3 games to 1 lead in the National League Championship Series.

"It's something I look forward to, to get an opportunity in a situation where it's an important time in the game," Stairs told reporters according to Reuters. "(I was) very fortunate to connect on one tonight."

The Phillies would become the National League pennant winner with one more win against the Dodgers. They would advance to the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays or Boston Red Sox.
