The captain of a UK jetliner saw a brown object which looked like a missile shoot ahead of the airplane in what has been categorized an unidentified flying object, according to newly released British government records.
The pilot, who was guiding the plane to an arrival in London in April of 1991, shouted "look out" to his co-pilot after spotting the object.
After an investigation, it was ruled out that the object was missile and "all the usual explanations," UFO expert David Clarke told CNN. He is also a journalism instructor at Sheffield Hallam University who worked with the National Archives to release the new materials.
The British Ministry of Defence on Monday released thousands of documents about reports of UFO sightings.
The reports cover the years between 1986 and 1992.
