Anne Pressly, 26, the morning anchor for KATV-TV in Little Rock, was found by her mother at about 4:30 a.m. lying in her bed and bleeding from "severe injuries," according to the Associated Press.
Police say she may have been attacked during a robbery as her purse is missing. But Sgt. Cassandra Davis of the Little Rock Police Department said there is no sign of forced entry to her home on Club Road in Little Rock.
Pressly was taken to St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center for her injuries.
Davis said there are no suspects at the moment, but Pressly's friends, neighbors and relatives are being questioned.
"It's not a neighborhood known for any violent crime," said Sgt. Cassandra Davis of the Little Rock Police Department.
Recently, Pressly had a small role in the newly-released movie "W", a biographical film based on the life and presidency of George W. Bush, which debuted on screens across the country this weekend.
The last time anyone had contact with Pressly was between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.
Pressly's mother went to the home after a phone call to her daughter wasn't answered.
"She (Pressly's mom) didn't get an answer so she went to the address on Club Road, and she found her daughter inside the residence lying in the bed suffering from some severe injuries," Davis told FOXNews.com.
