The new phone operates on AT&T's 3G network and uses the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.
"AT&T and Samsung have had a very successful history of bringing innovative smartphones, such as BlackJack and BlackJack II, to market and the Epix is no exception," said Michael Woodward the AT&T wireless vice president for business mobility products. "We're sure that the Epix will resonate equally well with AT&T customers."
Additional features include Wi-Fi, Built-in aGPS, and a 2.0 Megapixel camera. A separate service, called AT&T Video Share allows users of the phone to share live video while participating in a voice call.
The new phone is available exclusively at AT&T retailers.
The optical mouse, which is located above the keypad and below the 2.5 inch video screen can move with a sweep of the finger, or it can also be switched to a traditional four way operation. Users can also use the touch screen to navigate.
The phone's dimensions are 4.6 inches x 2.4 inches x 0.5 inches. It weighs 4.4 ounces.
Additional features include Microsoft Direct push for corporate customers and wireless synchronization with Microsoft Exchange.
