The non-profit association said that the test was made for assessment and instructional purposes and is not related to college admissions. The test, dubbed ReadiStep, costs under $10 and can be completed within two hours. It will be available for schools next fall.
College Board's president Gaston Caperton said the test was developed in respond to the demand from schools and districts that requested "a tool that will help them determine before high school what measures should be taken to ensure that students are on the path to being college ready."
