The Microsoft Windows Server MS08-067 has a critical vulnerability, the vendor reported today.

The problem is an error in the Server service that doesn't handle properly specially crafted RPC requests, which opens the door for attacks or the execution of arbitrary code via a specially crafted request.

Technically, the vulnerability of the server could be exploited by attackers to control completely an affected system.

The vendor reported that this vulnerability can be exploited in targeted attacks.

On Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, the vulnerability is only exploitable by authenticated users.
