Lute Olson will draw back from his long time service as head basketball coach of the Arizona Wildcats, according to reports.

The 74- year old Lute Olson resigned as basketball coach at Arizona, according to ESPN's Dick Vitale. Mike Dunlap is to serve as the new coach on an interim basis.

However school spokesman Tom Duddelston says that Olson had not given any notification about his resignation to the administration.

Olson's has a record of 780-280 at Long Beach State, Iowa and Arizona.

Olson was absent last year and replaced by Kevin O'Neill. When Olson decided to return in 2008 O'Neill left the program. His team Arizona won the NCAA championship in 1997.
