Google's iPhone Foe Released in UK Smartphone Market

Google made its first move into the European smart phone market on Thursday, with the introduction of G1.

The G1 went on sale in the UK today and is exclusively available on the T-Mobile network. The rest of Europe will receive it in 2009.

The new handset seeks to battle it out with Apple's iPhone, the Blackberry and other Smartphone's from makers including Nokia.

The G1 is the first phone to be powered by Android operating system and has been considered as the first phone with the capability of a hand-held computer.
