"If you grew up in central or south Jersey, you grew up with the 'Jersey Devil.' Here's a little musical Halloween treat. Have fun!" Springsteen wrote on his website Thursday night as he launched a new song for the "scary" holiday which people can download for free.
The song called "A Night with the Jersey Devil" is about 16 witches casting 16 spells in rhythm and blues style. On the site, he also features a video where he plays the Jersey Devil himself.

The "Jersey Devil" sometimes referred to as the "Leeds Devil," is a creature said to inhabit Southern New Jersey which is generally described as a bied animal with hooves although there are different descriptions. The creature has lent its name to the New Jersey Devils hockey team.
