DALLAS - Shares of Diodes Inc. sank Thursday after the company posted a loss in the third quarter due to charges related to its acquisition of Zetex PLC.

The semiconductor parts maker said it lost $2.9 million, or 7 cents per share, compared with profit of $16.1 million or 38 cents per share a year ago.
Revenue rose 27.3 percent to $134 million from $105.3 million in the year-ago quarter.
Excluding one-time acquisition and stock option costs, the company said it earned 29 cents per share.
The third quarter was the company's first full three months after its purchase of Zetex, a maker of semiconductors, which accounted for $14.8 million in charges, Diodes said.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters, who typically exclude one-time items, expected profit of 31 cents per share on $135.4 million in revenue.
The company's fell $1.70, or 17 percent, to $8.31 in afternoon trading. Shares have traded between $32.26 and $7.97 in the past 52 weeks.
