President-elect Barack Obama will hold his first press conference on Friday since winning the U.S. presidency on Tuesday, according to a statement released by his transition team.

At the conference, set to start at 1:30 p.m. (2:30 p.m. EST) at a Chicago hotel, vice president elect Joe Biden is scheduled to appear.

Also on Friday, Obama was meeting with economic advisers to hear advice about helping improve the U.S. economy.

Since his election, Obama has picked Congressman Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff and campaign advisor David Axelrod as his senior advisor.
