REDMOND, Wash. - Concur Technologies Inc. said Tuesday that its fiscal fourth-quarter profit climbed more than 36 percent as a boost in subscription revenue helped deliver better-than-expected results.

The company, which makes corporate expense-management software, earned $5.6 million, or 11 cents per share, during the three months ended Sept. 30. That compares with a profit of $4.1 million, or 10 cents per share, during the same period last year.
Excluding items, the company's tax affected pro-forma profit was 16 cents per share.
Revenue grew 61 percent to $57.5 million up from $35.7 million a year ago.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn 14 cents per share on revenue of $56.6 million. Those estimates typically exclude one-time items.
For the full fiscal year, the Redmond-based company earned $17.2 million, or 35 cents per share. That's more than double last year's profit of $8.2 million, or 20 cents per share.
Excluding the items, the company's full-year tax-affected pro-forma profit was 54 cents per share.
Full-year revenue climbed 67 percent to $215.5 million.
Concur shares climbed $2.12, or 10 percent, to $22.41 in after-hours trading Tuesday after ending the session at $20.29.
