CARBONDALE, Ill. - A Virginia-based electronics warranty service apparently is expanding to Carbondale, and that could mean as many as 480 work-at-home jobs over the next three years.

New Electronics Warranty Customer Service Companies Inc. says it will begin offering customer-service jobs early next year.
NEW says the jobs pay $9.75 an hour, with full-time employees who work 30 hours or more each week getting paid time off and health insurance benefits.
Customer service employees work out of their homes, answering calls from customers of various clients, including DirecTV. Workers will answer troubleshooting questions and help with monthly billing.
Those hired will undergo six weeks of training.
