Bush will formally rededicate the Intrepid museum ship in a Veterans Day ceremony with 2,500 war veterans aboard the legendary aircraft carrier from the second World War, the Associated Press reports.

A Crosstown March will depart from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on the West Side Highway to 42nd Street and eventually merging with main New York City's Veterans Day parade on Fifth avenue. The main parade starts at 11:30 a.m., moving up Fifth Avenue from 26th street to 56th street.

About 20,000 participants are expected to join the parade with an estimated 400,000 spectators expected. The event's theme is "Legacy of Honor."

Meanwhile, President-elect Barack Obama planned to honor fallen troops today in observance of Veterans Day. He is scheduled to lay a wreath in Chicago.

Veterans Day is held on November 11th to remember the day when World War I ended officially with the signing of the armistice on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month of 1918.
