After the country switches to digital programming in February, satellite TV operators have until 2013 to carry local TV stations' high-definition signals. But if they choose to carry one local HD channel in a market, they must carry all local HD signals to prevent cherry-picking the more popular channels.
DirecTV also lobbied about sports programming access, pricing and exclusive deals. The El Segundo, Calif.-based company offers NFL Sunday Ticket, a premium sports programming package of out-of-market games under an exclusive deal with the National Football League.
DirecTV also lobbied on state video taxes, according to the report filed Oct. 17 with the House clerk's office.
