US dollar mixed in Europe trading, gold down

LONDON - The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Monday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.2719, down from $1.2797 late Friday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_97.04 Japanese yen, down from 97.57
_1.1965 Swiss francs, up from 1.1852
_1.2137 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2186
The British pound was quoted at $1.5018, up from $1.4949.
Gold traded in London at $734.00 per troy ounce, down from $747.50 late Friday.
