US Senator Edward Kennedy, who is battling a malignant brain cancer collapsed during the inauguration lunch for President Barack Obama.
"Sen. Edward Kennedy experienced a seizure today while attending a luncheon for President Barack Obama in the U.S. Capitol,'' Dr. Edward Aulisi, chairman of neurosurgery at the Washington Hospital Center said this evening.
"First of all, I know that while I was out of the room, concern was expressed about Teddy, obama said at the start of his speech.
"I would be lying to you if I did not say that right now, a part of me is with him. And I think that's true for all of us.
"This is a joyous time. But it's also a sobering time. And my prayers are with him and his family and Vicki."
Teddy Kennedy, 76, has been suffering with a brain tumor in the last year and has been prone to convulsions during that time as is common with that ailment.
