Oprah recommended Cassidy Podell, also known as DJ Cassidy, to play at the Mid-Atlantic Ball for President Obama and first lady, Michelle. It was one of ten Inaugural balls the first couple attended.

Some of the songs he played at Tuesday's ball included "Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours" by Stevie Wonder, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, "Wanna Be Startin' Something" by Michael Jackson, "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge and "Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher" by Jackie Wilson, which DJ Cassidy called, "a true song of hope," according to People.com.

DJ Cassidy also preformed at the opening of Oprah's girl's school in South Africa and at Beyonce and Jay-Z's secret wedding last year.
