Garland expected to close $7M deal with Diamondbacks

Garland is a dependable starter who should be able to post an ERA in the low 4.00s. He'll come close to 200 innings, helping to take pressure off the bullpen. In the past, that's been worth well over $10 million a season and a multi-year deal.

Garland was twice an 18-game winner with the Chicago White Sox, is 106-89 in nine major league seasons. In 2008, he was 14-8 with a 4.90 ERA for the Angels. He has spent his entire career in the American League. He has made two post-season appearances, both with the White Sox in 2005. He went 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA, and tossed a complete-game victory over the Angels in the AL championship series.

With Garland's experience on the field, it’s not a surprise if he closes a $7 Million dollar deal with Dbacks.

Garland will replace Randy Johnson, who signed with the San Francisco Giants earlier this offseason, in Arizona's rotation.
