Giants in full force again as Clark Rejoins

Clark's new role with the Giants, Clark will represent the organization at various in-season and off-season community events in San Francisco, including the 20th anniversary of the 1989 Giants on Saturday, June 13.

Giants managing general partner and CEO Bill Neukom said in a statement that his team was open to absorb Clark

"We are delighted to welcome [Clark] Will back to the organization. He has remained a favorite among Giants fans and he will be a great addition to the outstanding group of Giants alumni who represent the organization. As a homegrown Giants player"

Clark will attend the Giants spring training camp in Scottsdale, Arizona and will visit a Giants' minor league team each year. The comeback of the former baseman will bring identity to the team upon resuming on the game once again, "[Clark]Will brings a unique perspective to the job, enabling him to serve as a resource and mentor to our younger players at the major and minor league levels," Neukom added.

Clark, 44, was a five-time All-Star with the Giants from 1986-93, He was the MVP of the 1989 NLCS against Chicago when he batted a robust .650 with a pair of homers and eight RBI in a five-game victory. Beginning with his first major league at-bat, in which he famously hit a home run off Nolan Ryan, Clark helped elevate the franchise out of one of its darkest eras. His thick eye black, high-pitched voice and ultra-confident demeanor were his trademarks.
