Tejada charged with lying about steroids

All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada was charged Tuesday with lying to congressional investigators about the use of steroids while playing in baseball game.

According to The Washington Post reports, Tejada made misrepresentations to congressional staffers during an interview in a Baltimore hotel room regarding steroids. The charges against Tejada were outlined in documents filed in Washington federal court on Tuesday.

Tejada, who currently plays for the Houston Astros, is scheduled to appear at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., court officials said, where he is expected to plead guilty.
