BA flight crash lands in London

On Friday evening a British Airways passenger jet with 72 people on board crash-landed at London City Airport. All passengers were evacuated to safety, the Associated Press reported.

BA Flight 8456 was flying from Amsterdam to London, an airport spokeswoman said on customary condition of anonymity, AP reported.

London firefighters said the plane was carrying 67 passengers and five crew.

It crashed onto the runway around 8 p.m. GMT resulting in the closure of the runway.

According to London ambulance officials, four people have been treated for minor injuries but no one was taken to hospitals.

London City Airport located in the eastern part of London is mainly used for domestic and European flights.
